Massimiliano Locatelli, of CLS Architetti studio, collaborates with Italcementi, Arup and Cybe to present a house design printed in situ, 100 square metres in Piazza Cesare Beccaria. 3D HOUSING 05 is a house designed using a new architectural language that derives from a technology that itself borrows from the mechanics of a 3D printer. However, in this case it does not extrude polymers but building materials such as cement. This kind of house has a very low environmental impact during construction, moving and disassembly, as well as being easy to modify both in scale and proportion. It is an initiative that has plenty of competitors also working to develop housing solutions with similar technologies, but nonetheless wishes to guarantee a roof over the heads of billions of people as well as provide an option for people who do not want a fixed abode or wish to build on another planet.
