PlusDesign, in partnership with Juventus, presents an unusual and decidedly intriguing exhibition that is not overshadowed by the Juventus brand, but rather focuses on research into and meticulous documentation of the architectural joint, which is the subject of a course at ECAL. A constant source of great interest for architects and designers, the joint has been reinterpreted, deconstructed and reinvented multiple times and still undergoes extensive creative development today, thanks to current digital manufacturing technology. The gigantic exhibition (over 1,300 square metres of space, a 40 metre infographic and 50 designers and producers) presents a vast number of examples of this object (prototypes, concepts and products in production), ranging from those engineered using industrial methods to more metaphorical examples in which the objective is to join, irrelevant of how and why.
