With all the events going on for Fuorisalone, of course Body Heat had to make an appearance. Rocco Civitelli and team have brought a big name to town, none other than Derrick McKenzie. Derrick is the drummer from Jamiroquai and a master of his trade since 1960, when he started playing drums at a very tender age. His first taste of success came about twenty years later, outside one of East London’s many Marks & Spencers – a place of work that kept him in food and rent for years while he hopped from one funk and jazz band to another until 1993, when he took off with the giant space ship that was Jamiroquai. And the rest is history. Derrick has already performed behind the Body Heat console, but tonight will be different. The crew has announced a royal rumble with concerts and DJ sets, this is basically gonna be a huge non-stop show until the small hours. Don’t expect the same intimacy as KTV, which Body Heat calls home and where the DJ is just a few inches away. This is a something bigger, because the Saturday of Design Week is not to be taken lightly.
