The first part of the festival curated by The Art Center of Padua concludes with a triumphant concert based on the work of Karlheinz Stockhausen, in collaboration with “SaMPL – Sound and Music Processing Lab”. Kathinkas Gesang, is the second scene from the Licht cycle of his majestic Samstag opera, composed between 1977 and 2003 by the pioneer of electronic music. The protagonists of this evening hold prominent roles in the recent history of contemporary music: from Alvise Vidolin (sound direction) to Massimiliano Viel (keyboards and electronics, one of the few trusted performers by Karlheinz Stockhausen), to the young and promising virtuoso Laura Faoro (flute) who prepared herself assisted by the first interpreter of the piece: Kathinka Pasveer. It will follow Spiral, electro-acoustic work for improvisation and shortwave radio signals.
