Nel distretto delle 5VIE, lo studio ELIURPI (ovvero il duo creativo di Elisabet Urpí e Nacho Umpiérrez) presenta una mostra curata da Mr. Lawrence, con oggetti da indossare legati da un filo… non rosso ma di paglia. Situato nel Barrio Gotico della città vecchia di Barcellona, lo studio ELIURPI si distingue per una multidisciplinarietà che attinge dall’architettura e dall’arte contemporanea, cercando la purezza delle linee e la fusione tra forme scultoree e funzionalità. Con questo progetto, hanno recuperato la tecnica della sombrerería, traduzionale manifattura dei sombreri spagnoli. E ne hanno cambiato le regole, perché gli stavano strette. Niente ci impedisce di inventarci un altro mondo fatto su misura per noi se non ci entriamo.

Located in 5VIE district, the ELIURPI studio ( the creative duo of Elisabet Urpí and Nacho Umpiérrez) presents an exhibition curated by Mr. Lawrence, with wearable objects tied by a string… not red, but made of straw. Located in the Barrio Gotico in the old city of Barcelona, the ELIURPI studio stands out for its multidisciplinary approach that draws on architecture and contemporary art, seeking the purity of lines and the fusion of sculptural forms and functionality. With this project, they have retrieved the technique of sombrería, the Spanish sombrero manufacture. They changed the rules because it was a tight fit. Nothing stops us from inventing another world made to measure for us if we don’t fit into it.
