I was recently invited to dinner by two different friends, one in Milan and the other in London. The company in the first case were all ‘industry’: a few DJs and producers and a couple of indie journalists who specialise in refined, barely-mainstream sound.  As we tucked in, one of them connected their iPhone to the stereo and to my great surprise, Solomun’s Tulum Boiler Room started to play from the speakers. At the second dinner in London, I was a guest at the home of an affluent family with 2.0 jobs and all that. The host opened Spotify and said “I hope you like this” before hitting play on Solomun’s Boiler Room. Well done Mladen, superstar DJ and interclass icon! I’ll buy you dinner tonight, but only if I can choose the music.
