Finally we’ve got an abandoned space that has been well reused: the ex Scalo Porta Romana has now become the Tank, a temporary shop devoted to the culinary delights (but not only) that will be open until the end of Expo. I ended up there casually: I was scrutinizing clothes of the always appreciated Chinese stall, at the corner between piazzale Lodi and viale Isonzo, when I saw a rare movement. Following the way I crossed the entrance and I found myself in front of a series of food trucks and converted containers, among recycled chairs and flowered plants, and then a mini playground (there are also merry-go-rounds!), so that the real problem is to choose what to do (or eat) first. A good iced bier, guzzled on the big cushions of Poretti’s space, will clear up your mind and will wet your appetite. Now the call of Rolling Kitchen trunk is strong, so let’s have a good sandwich, of real bread, with hamburger (strictly homemade), yogurt sauce and candy onions. And than a fried squid just to enjoy it. The pleasure you’ll get, joined with the price (only 6 Euros), would push you to order at least other 4 of them: the seasonings seem without an end. I want to try everything! But I have to renounce to try, later on, the fried panzerotti (really good). The stomach by now is worn out and there are still many tastings to do. I’ll have to come back… but before leaving this place no one can avoid a glass in the wine bar, under the beach umbrella. Or a gin tonic in Le Boudoir du Tank, temporary gin bar by Ral 8022, in a container recreating the setting of a Parisian boudoir, with more than 100 gins and 25 tonic drinks in rotation, served in combination with 27 spices, infusions and fruits.
