Design biofi(li)co

A volte è incredibile vedere come la ormai perenne scarsità di risorse che attanaglia il nostro tempo possa stimolare la ricerca di soluzioni intelligenti a questi extra-ordinari problemi. Lo studio londinese di architettura e design ecoLogicStudio, guidato da Claudia Pasquero e Marco Poletto, atterra al Fuorisalone con i risultati del progetto di ricerca PhotoSynthetica™, già avviato nel 2018, sugli effetti del cambiamento climatico e dell’inquinamento atmosferico sul benessere urbano (cosa che a Milano sappiamo bene avendo, dopo tanti sforzi, dedizione e costanza, raggiunto la top 4 delle città più inquinate al mondo!). Nel padiglione WAO PL7, nel distretto di Isola Design Festival, ci sarà la prima collezione dello studio di prodotti di design biofilico: un purificatore d’aria biotecnologico, uno sgabello compostabile (entrambi parte della collezione permanente Mudac-Museo di design contemporaneo e arti applicate di Losanna in Svizzera) e un gioiello stampato in 3D in biomassa di micro-alghe.

Sometimes it’s incredible to see how the perennial scarcity of resources plaguing our times can stimulate the search for intelligent solutions to these extraordinary problems. The London-based architecture and design studio ecoLogicStudio, led by Claudia Pasquero and Marco Poletto, lands at the Fuorisalone with the results of the PhotoSynthetica™ research project. Already initiated in 2018, the project investigates the effects of climate change and air pollution on urban well-being (something we know well in Milan, having, after so much effort, dedication, and perseverance, reached the top 4 of the most polluted cities in the world!). In the WAO PL7 pavilion on Via Luigi Porro Lambertenghi, in Isola Design Festival district, there will be the first collection of the biophilic design product studio: a biotechnological air purifier, a compostable stool (both part of the permanent collection of the Mudac-Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts in Lausanne, Switzerland), and a 3D printed jewel made of microalgae biomass.
