Matteo Cibic’s party is a Fuorisalone classic. The design element here is an old dance hall with its sofas, hidden console, vintage strobe lighting, a stage for the band who will only be playing a traditional Italian repertoire (with the odd contemporary hit) and drinks that aren’t much to look at but make up for it in strength (that’s what counts after all, isn’t it?). Matteo will be writhing on the dance floor and encouraging everybody to do the same: Italian and international designer friends and anybody else looking for an unusual night out. The floor will be full of older couples dancing rings round us at the beginning of the night, but as long as you don’t take your drink onto the dance floor (spillages are slippery!), they will happily teach you every step. These are experts who never stopped dancing – basically us in 30 years.
