Let’s be clear, this operation found fertile ground thanks to the groovy dance-punk of DFA productions and the hype surrounding nu-rave, but Erol Alkan was quick to intercept the rising wave and also proved to be a pioneer of mash-ups and remixes. In short, he became a hero to anybody who every dreamed of throwing a house party with the entire cast of Skins. But he also worked hard on his label: Phantasy Sound, was the first to believe in Daniel Avery and promotes quality house and techno with a pop appeal, often with rousing progressions (all the more common in his latest sets).
