The light-heartedness and elegance of the Land of the Rising Sun and the contrast between the kawaii aesthetic and the strong presence of history, tradition and spirituality, have inspired a collection of furniture as testimony to this unique experience. The main feature is a statement set of two tables, named “Shibuya” after the famous Tokyo neighbourhood. The green and red of traffic lights and the countless neon colours of the busiest junction in the world control the calm and organised flow of thousands of people who, as if by magic, observe one another but never touch. This is the story that this project wants to tell, a photograph of a unique place that western travellers regard with wonder.
The two one-of-a-kind pieces will be exhibited at the < em>“Cascina nascosta”, beneath the Torre Branca in Parco Sempione.
