Emporio Armani’s radio truck, which debuted on the Navigli last year and then toured Italy and Europe, is back with a daytime party and a pretty stylish line-up. Gerd Janson is one of those names that we just can’t praise enough: he is in a class of his own both as producer (he founded label Running Back and is part of the Tuff City Kids duo) and DJ. Ranging from electro synth pop to refined techno, he could as easily play at DC10 or Berghain or an Australian festival in the middle of nowhere. His only ‘defect’ is that he’s not really a media person, but since he was a contributor to Groove Magazine, he probably knows a bit about the communication machine. Mandredas is on the road to success thanks to his various 12-hour sets at the Opium Club in his hometown Vilnius, which have got everyone talking. We met him at the latest BUKA party at the strip club, where after a post-dark-electro set, he played a folk-rock ballad, so be ready for anything. Mammarella will be kicking things off tomorrow with his cheerful and cerebral disco-house, before the radio truck tours Design Week and then Europe.
