Festeggiamo insieme al bar l’età giusta per sentirci due volte trentenni.

Avete mai visto il meme del cavallo disegnato male? In realtà ce ne sono tanti sul genere e qui non stiamo parlando di cavalli, ma di fedeltà delle immagini. La fondatrice dell’azienda tessile Marimekko, Armi Ratia, già negli anni sessanta riteneva che non fosse possibile catturare fedelmente la vera essenza dei fiori reali nella stampa, motivo per cui le stampe floreali erano state precedentemente escluse dalle collezioni Marimekko (e dubitiamo fortemente che le fosse capitato sotto agli occhi quel meme). Tuttavia, l’artista Maija Isola nel 1964 ha progettato Unikko come un’astrazione di un fiore piuttosto che come una resa fotorealistica. E da lì via alla produzione della stampa più iconica del design finlandese, che ci permette di festeggiare in questo Fuorisalone il suo 60° compleanno al Bar Unikko, allestito con cura dal team di Apartamento. Nonostante l’età avanzi, ci aspettiamo un’esplosione di gioia e ottimismo.

Have you ever seen the badly drawn horse meme? There are many of them, but here we’re not talking about horses, but about image fidelity. Marimekko’s textile company founder, Armi Ratia, believed in the 1960s that it wasn’t possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints had been excluded from Marimekko collections (and we strongly doubt she ever came across that meme). However, artist Maija Isola designed Unikko in 1964 as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendering. And from there, the production of the most iconic Finnish design print began, allowing us to celebrate its 60th anniversary at the Bar Unikko during this Fuorisalone, carefully set up by the Apartamento team. Despite its age, we expect an explosion of joy and optimism.
