Murlo is both a small Tuscan municipality and a British grime DJ/producer as well as 3D animator for his own surreal videos. We’re still waiting for a Murlo gig in Murlo, but in the meantime you can see him at We Riddim for the opening of Milan Design Week tonight at TOM. The multifarious creatures and algid spaces of his digital illustrations (which occasionally recall Savinio paintings) meet the biting grime sound and echoes of hip-hop, dancehall and house from his last EP “Odyssey” which came out on label Mixpak in November to acclaim from fans and critics. The odyssey that acts as a background narrative to the tracks is the story of a group of people who abandon the planet.
