Ben Klock at Dude during Design Week is something of a fixture now. Last year, he created the perfect intimate club atmosphere without a beat out of place, despite being more used to headlining massive festivals nowadays. Since then, Mr Klock has continued at breakneck speed, so much so that he even documented his 11 gigs in 10 days in Mixmag last August with a day-by-day account that was mostly driver pick-up times, somehow still finding the time to produce. In January, he released the double vinyl “Phantom Studies” on Ostgut with his colleague Dettmann. It is a complete techno masterpiece that reveals the duo’s inspirations and the Berlin they represent. Ben, nearing 50, doesn’t seem to be tiring; it would appear that clubbing keeps you young, even more so than design.
