Luciana Gunetti, Mario Piazza and Marco Vitale have recovered ten editions of one of the most important experiments in graphic design and publishing ever from the Albe and Lica Steiner archive: the Bauhausbücher, produced by Walter Gropius and Lazlo Moholy-Nagy in 1925 while they moved Bauhaus from Weimar to Dessau. The series was revolutionary in integrating photography, graphic design, text and work by artists such as Klee, Kandinskij, Oud, Malevic and Van Doesburg, along with didactic content. The exhibition also explores the influence that the Bauhausbücher had on the Steiners, on pre and post-war Italian graphic design as well as on personalities such as Paul Renner and Jan Tschichold.
