The space in Piazza Vetra will be hosting a double exploit this year. A mysterious project during Miart by the radical Gianni Pettena, who just finished a retrospective at the Bonelli Gallery, will be immediately followed by Ramak Fazel, photographer and artist. His project is performance-based: during the design week he will be converting MEGA into a carpenter’s shop and sitting in the window making copy after copy of a stool he designed himself in the garage of his home in California, in keeping with an American tradition embodied by everybody from Donald Duck to Steve Jobs. The stool, three-legged and made of coarse wood destined for construction work, carries profound layers of meaning and function. It contains within it a series of criticisms and questions regarding the design system and the construction process itself is intended to cross-check skills and connections with as many people as possible.
