Now that gentrification has really taken hold, urban marketing has finally been able to get its hands on the notorious Isola area too, transforming it into a FuoriSalone district. Several attempts had  been made in the past, to no avail.

At O’, Dutch Invertuals will be organising “Harvest”, a project by 10 designers that will explore the future of design conceptually.

At Frida, Florentine Source Self-Made Design will open the “Obstacles and Solutions” exhibition curated by Valia Barriello: a window into the problems faced by designers when physically making. Ulian, Damiani, Paruccini, Barbierato and emerging star Federico Angi will also be on display.

Space is given to young designers at the Milan Design Market which will move to Isola this year.

Now in its 16th edition, Green Island by Claudia Zanfi will be exhibited in three different locations: the vegetable sculptures of Emilia Faro, trapped in a shell of resin and volcanic sand, will be installed in the RivaRiva showroom at Porro Lambertenghi, at the Spazio Algranti Lab in Via Pepe and in the window of Tiger at Stazione Garibaldi.

Finally, Studio Boot and C-mone will present “Social Label” with the theme of an inclusive society, a project that seeks to create dialogue between company and designer.
