The Open Custom was built in the ex customs area of the Scalo Farini. It is located among the best museum in the open air of Milan, that is the Monumental Cemetery, and a rare artefact with the shape of a hourglass – which in its origin in the Sixties was a water tank and that later on was covered in coloured tiles made of ceramic, in occasion of Italy Championship 1990/91. For this area had been issued several requalification projects which shared common features such as very large volumes for residences and plywood for parks. However, nothing of this was successfully completed. For this reason someone decided to give new life to this area in an unconventional way: eleven containers were set up – assembled and redesigned in their interior – giving birth to a structure that has a strong effect (there is also a terrace), moreover with an underground hint. There will be also drinks, foods, sports, a clearing, a park and this will be the meeting point of promoters during the night. The entertainment will be mostly music but not only: the most intelligent and spontaneous way to give back life to abandoned spaces, instead of big reflections for big projects.
