You go up to the top floor of one of the most glossy hotels in Milan, the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, where I could never, ever afford a room. A cocktail certainly yes, sit on the wonderful terrace overlooking the Central Station. It has never looked as beautiful as it does from up here. People move fast, who knows where they go. I imagine starting off and I order a Martini Cocktail, it always looks cool when you’re looking at the horizon. The service is absolutely neat, professional and high profile. The environment of a calm modernity welcomes without making you too uncomfortable. But the main game is Milan, which from the top is admirable until the new skyline of the Garibaldi area. Less pleasant the price: 18 € a signature at the bar and a series of delicious tastings signed by the Cerea brothers. But it’s worth it.
