Once upon a time, in Vittorio square, there was a colorful market called “gran fiera magnara”, which was described by Gadda and now is known as Esquilino market. It is organised as a suk, an Arabian kind of market in concentric circles, the old shape survives in a new specular structure. You can wonder in the intense smell, sink in the colors of the spices, taste the roast lamb from Abruzzo and a large variety of goods from all over the world.
