Since album of the same name from 2005, WhoMadeWho have undergone a powerful shift toward electronica. This was already plain in last album “Dreams” and this year’s new album “Through the Walls” has almost completely replaced guitars and rock with synths and drum machines, often using a 4/4 house beat interspersed with more romantic sounds or a more electro vibe. They may have changed the tools of their trade, but they’ve still got that wonderful easy-to-listen-to style. It is a process of sound evolution that is making the Danish trio even more contemporary. Their return to Milan after four years is not to be missed and they are a guaranteed good-time (even though the latest offering didn’t arouse much interest from the media).
