Welcome, inform, shape. These are the three main goals of the Fondazione Albini at this MDW 2018. The home-studio of the great master who worked on the Milan Metro design organises new formats to develop the Albini method and share the intimate details and design techniques of one of the people who made Italian design history what it is. As well as the usual focus on the design and layouts of Franco Albini and Franca Helg, special attention is devoted to younger visitors, with the aim of discovering, promoting and guiding new talent. Hence, during Design Week, the studio will hold a workshop to work with Glifo, an innovative tool co-designed by Fab Lab OpenDot and Fondazione TOG along with three young designers. It is a tool to help children with complex neurological disorders or motor disfunction draw and colour freely. Finally, Studio Marco e Francesco Albini Associati presents, within the HQ of the Zona S. Ambrogio Design District, a small exhibition entitled “The Quest for Lightness”, which will present the unseen prototype for the “Suspended Armchair”, designed by Franco Albini with Enea Manfredini, redesigned and developed by the studio over the last few years.
