After the Baroque triumph as a curator at the Fondazione Prada, in its Milan headquarters, the Belgian artist Luc Tuymans arrives at Palazzo Grassi with a great monographic: with over eighty works, of which a significant nucleus comes from the collection of the house owner Pinault, here the attention is completely set on his pictorial production. The curatorship is by Caroline Bourgeois and the title La Pelle is a quote from Curzio Malaparte, but Tuymans has indeed worked here in close collaboration for the realization of the exhibition project, as it often happens with the great monographs of the Pinault Collection – this is the eighth of the series – which give carte blanche to the artists. Between a new site-specific installation and a deep retrospective look, you can expect a great fresco on the contemporary image.
