Marni unexpectedly changes its look with loud colours, Caribbean rhythms and wild dancing. Of course it’s traditional Columbian dance the Cumbia and the Via Umbria space becomes a vast ballroom for watching the dance and taking part in professional lessons. Marni breaks its own rules as usual, in an event where design and fashion blend seamlessly. The wide, flared skirts traditionally worn by the dancers are revisited, as well as the scarves knotted at the necks of the men. And the design? I hear you cry. All the choreography is set to a backdrop that nods to Colombia and its myriad colours: arm chairs, chaise longues and rocking chairs matched with tables, lamps and vases of different sizes in metal, wood and hand-woven PVC wire.
