Francesco Zanot is the most sought-after photography curator in Italy. In the past two years, we have followed him from Milan’s Viasaterna gallery to exhibitions at CAMERA in Turin and back again to the opening of the new Fondazione Prada overlooking the roof of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. For the Salone, he has curated an exhibition at the Fondazione Magistretti along with Anniina Koivu, memorable design editor for Boeri’s Abitare who then moved on to work at Vitra and finally Ecal. The exhibition reinterprets five Magistretti objects that are no longer in production, through the gaze of photographers Maxime Guyon, Quentin Lacombe, Calypso Mahieu, Nicolas Polli and Jean-Vincent Simonet, reigniting the desire for objects that can no longer be possessed. The photos are exhibited alongside archive material from the original designs.
