For this year’s Salone, the BASE team have collaborated with Stefano Mirti on an exhibition with the timeless theme of Nomadic Design. But forget the standard fascination for precarious solutions and adaptable design, here the theme has been tweaked to suit its location at Base: “How is design changing in the era of neo-nomadism, co-working, freelancing, cloud-computing and frequent travelling (for those who can afford it, ed.)?” Projects of note among those called to respond include “DODI”, the domestic disco by Analogique, architecture studio founded in Sicily in 2015 by Claudia Cosentino, Dario Felice and Antonio Rizzo, Marta Monge’s guide to illegally crossing borders and “Waterbed” by Daniel Durnin.
