Everyone in Milan knows the Drogherie Milanesi. For one reason or another there has always been a friend who invited you to his/her birthday, a colleague who wanted to drink a glass of wine with two tapas. We really liked the lovely furnishings, the preserves and the food products on display that do so much of cheesemonger. We have always been a bit skeptical about food, a menu divided between tapas or half-portions and dishes of grandmother’s battle horses like the tonnarelli alla carbonara, lasagna with artichokes and taleggio cheese, ricotta gnocchi with N’duja. Donuts do not always succeed with the hole, and despite the good intentions, the idea is that the food is always a little below expectations. If for one reason or another you come here, ask about their secret room, although it is always better to book.

You enter through a closet, like in The Chronicles of Narnia, and perhaps it is the most interesting part of this experience. The environment is vintage, very nice, pleasant to relax for an hour. Details such as table football, 60s’ armchairs and wallpaper give an idea of this secret bar for up to 10 people at a time. You can eat, have an aperitif or an after dinner drink at the bar counter. The cocktail list can be improved but overall it is a pleasant place to spend a few hours.
