Design and clubbing are year-round occupations for us, but during Milan Design Week there are many more chances to dance. Don’t settle for an improvised DJ set in a showroom served with a champagne-soaked canape or the umpteenth re-visitation of the chaise longue or a garage transformed into an “exclusive location” amidst food stalls or a party in some beautiful historical palazzo, listed as a heritage location and normally closed to the public. Settle for all of them! Explore everywhere and be curious, but know that when you feel the bassline calling, the kind that resonates through your body, the kind with strobes and that bittersweet taste in your mouth… these are the parties that you can’t miss.
TUESDAY 4 APRIL
Things kick off on Tuesday with M¥SS KETA followed by the Elita Design Week Festival. Elita is the soundtrack to the Fuorisalone, so you’ll definitely be going to a few of their events.
WEDNESDAY 5 APRIL
The Milan Block Party and after party.
THURSDAY 6 APRIL
Enjoy the party house in Ventura-Lambrate from start to finish and then round it off with some serious techno from one of the Berghain masters at Dude. If you fancy something different, check out some South African GQOM presented by Elita at Biko.
FRIDAY 7 APRIL
Start out in Piazza del Cannone amidst installation and house and techno sets, before being spoilt for choice with historic Italian names, the best English techno and Afro music.
